The Jiu-Jitsu World Championship, to take place June 2 to 5 in California, is approaching. And the world’s best are drumming up better and better ways to improve their training.
Antonio Peinado, brown belt world champion in 2008, wants a repeat of the achievement but at the highest rank. And the team Alliance representative is sparing no effort to make it happen in 2011. He thus took off for New York this week.
“I’m going to meet up with Marcelo Garcia and he’s going to polish up my game for the Worlds. I’ll stay there with him to help him out or for us to train together,” he says.
“Marcelo and his wife, along with Fabio Gurgel, are some of the people who most helped me in Jiu-Jitsu. To me he’s the best black belt in the world in competition. I’m sure I’ll improve a lot and sharpen my game up by being around him,” he adds.
