WNO: Gordon Ryan vs. Pedro Marinho full card line-up, preview, betting odds

The next Who’s Number One (WNO) is scheduled for Thursday, July 14 and will feature a highly anticipated rematch between Gordon Ryan and Pedro Marinho with the WNO heavyweight title on the line. And in the final match of the night, Kyle Chambers and Izaak Michell will battle in a no-time limit, submission-only contest to decide the winner of the first season of “Who’s Next.”

Below is the full card line-up and betting odds for WNO on July 14.

Main card

Preliminary card

With the “Who’s Next” title, $10,000, and a three-match WNO contract on the line, 10th Planet black belt Kyle Chambers will face B-Team’s Izaak Michell in a no-time limit match that could be over in five minutes just as easily as it could last hours. Chambers does his bet work from open guard where he will use creative and explosive entries to attack the legs, where he has shown to have excellent heel hook finishing mechanics. Michell is also known as a leg locker, but has rounded out his game lately, showing off elite-level wrestling, back-takes, and positional control.

In the co-main event, Pedro Marinho will look to become a two-weight WNO champion when he takes on Gordon Ryan for the vacant heavyweight belt. When the two first met in the opening round of the 2019 ADCC absolute division, Ryan quickly heel hooked Marinho. The Gracie Barra standout has progressed by leaps and bounds since then, winning double gold at the IBJJF no-gi Worlds and capturing the WNO light heavyweight title by defeating Craig Jones.

More than any of Ryan’s recent opponents, Marinho is a very physical, cagey competitor. He is an explosive athlete with a dangerous guillotine and an ever-evolving awareness of the leg lock game. Ryan, on the other hand, is a methodical technician that applies constant, control-based pressure from both top and bottom position. This is a 30-minute match, so look for Ryan to start slowly, taking few risks early as he gradually tries to control Marinho to work toward a submission.

Lower on the card, Andrew Tackett versus Rene Sousa has the makings of a high-paced war, with the high-flying and fearless Tackett going head-to-head against the unorthodox submission-oriented approach of 10th Planet standout Rene Sousa. Also, opening up the main card will be a battle of 88 kg. ADCC Trials winners, as Giancarlo Bodoni steps up on short notice to take on B-Team’s Jacob Rodriguez.

How to watch: Who’s Number One: Who’s Next Finale takes place on Thursday, July 14 at 7:00 PM CT. The preliminary card will air for free on FloGrappling’s YouTube channel, and the main card will air on FloGrappling (subscription required).
