Why do some people get better faster in Brazilian jiu-jitsu?
There are so many factors. Natural aptitude would obviously play a part, but lifestyle also has its effects. Someone who has a host of other things on her mind (work, family, etc) probably isn’t going to learn as quickly as someone who is only thinking about jiu-jitsu. A person who is tired after a long day at work probably also isn’t going to learn as much as someone who is energetic and ready to learn.
Yet one more thing that BJJ black belt Nick “Chew” Albin says makes the difference between a quick learner and someone who doesn’t learn so quickly is how relaxed they are.
