What is the ideal weight for jiu-jitsu?

This is probably going to sound rather obvious, but there isn’t one. It all depends on how well you can perform at certain weight classes, how much getting to those weight classes affects your life, and how much your willing to let getting to those weight classes affect your life.

So, how do you figure all of that out? Simple: you experiment. Try competing a lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight. See how you like them and see how well your body handles gaining and losing weight.
