GMA member Armando Basulto, of Gracie Humaita North Carolina, conducted a seminar in the gentle art for a group of university students in the criminal justice program of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.
The workshop, “Defensive Tactics for Criminal Justice” was held on December 3rd, 2011 and was sponsored by WCU’s Department of Criminology. The participants learned foundational skills in dealing with aggressive suspects by using leverage and position.
Local Waynesville Police Chief William Hollingsed, a Jiu-Jitsu hobbyist himself, participated and assisted with the training of these future law enforcement professionals.
