Actor Vin Diesel, famous for the Fast & Furious Franchise, has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on and off for the past 20 years. He is currently a blue belt.
One of his best friends is a certain Valentino Morales, who this weekend received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Alberto Crane after training for 20 years. He started around the same time as Vin Diesel did.
Going through the ranks in Jiu-Jitsu is a long and tough process which weeds out the people who are not 100% committed to to Jiu-Jitsu. Ryron Gracie said that “Only 1% of people that train Jiu-Jitsu will get their black belt”. Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is arguably the hardest black belt to achieve in all martial arts.
Vin Diesel was there for the occasion and decided to speak a few words, honoring his friend for his accomplishment.
Diesel stated:
“My brother Valentino just did something incredible. He got his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which is one of the hardest sports in the world. He did through his hard work and determination. I’m proud of him.”
