An experienced teacher and the fighter responsible for popularizing the offensive half-guard in BJJ, Roberto “Gordo” Correa has his name written in bold letter in the history of the art.
The leader of Start BJJ Academy in Pembroke Pines took his students to take part in the Miami Fall Open last weekend at the Miami Dade College gymnasium, and took the opportunity to test himself among younger competition.
Gordo reached the final of his division against Fabio Melo (Tozi) and fought fiercely until the last second, but lost by two points.
