Good morning, sneaky guard pullers. Here’s a closed guard sweep to submission you can practice before you’ve even gotten out of bed.
Timur Ouzlaner is consistently posting great technical content out of his Haifa-based Timura BJJ. (We’re especially fans of the jump camera angles that let you see what professor is doing up close.) This sweep to armbar is no exception. You’ll need to bait your opponent into standing to pass your guard. Once they do snake your arm around the foot closest to your body, keep an iron grip on the sleeve you still have, use your legs/hips to bring them down, then swing your leg up for the armbar. You should finish with their arm and leg firmly in your possession.
