Jiu-Jitsu world champion for the IBJJF and three-time Brazilian champion, Erberth Santos, was apprehended on Thursday (24th) in Boituva, São Paulo, along with his friend and fellow black belt, André Pessoa. The two individuals were involved in a series of sexual assaults and thefts in multiple cities in Mato Grosso do Sul. The arrests were carried out by the Mato Grosso do Sul Shock Police Battalion, and the fighters admitted to all the crimes during their interrogation.
Investigations reveal that Erberth and André assaulted at least four women, although there is a possibility that the number of victims is higher. Both individuals will remain in custody in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul, after being transferred from São Paulo.
During the apprehension, the authorities discovered 26 cell phones, knives, and firearms in the possession of the perpetrators. Reports indicate that the crimes were characterized by extreme violence, with the victims being restrained, physically assaulted, and threatened.

According to the “Mídiamax” news portal, the incidents of rape and robbery occurred in the cities of Campo Grande and Três Lagoas following a Jiu-Jitsu tournament held on Monday (21).
After the tournament, Erberth Santos and André Pessoa went to a residence in Campo Grande, where they hired the services of sex workers. Upon arriving at the house, they inquired about the presence of other girls, to which they were informed that only two were present.
Subsequently, one of the assailants went upstairs to a bedroom with one of the girls, while the other remained downstairs. At that point, one of the perpetrators became aggressive and assaulted one of the victims. Both victims were then restrained by their hands.
The two women were subjected to sexual assault, and Erberth Santos and André ransacked a trunk, stealing approximately R$ 700, as well as the victims’ cell phones. The victims reported that the fighters were driving a Fiat Uno.
