The UFC is hitting the gas hard in August, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission has approved a whopping nine events in just one month for the promotion, according to MMA Fighting.
So far, the big fight that’s been announced for the month is the triology between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic, which is set to take place at UFC 252 on August 15. Junior Dos Santos vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik is also reportedly in the works for the event, though it hasn’t been set in stone yet.
The first UFC card of the month will take place on August 1 and will be headlined by a bantamweight fight between Holly Holm and Irene Aldana. A week later, the August 8 event will feature a bout between Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik in the main event. Following UFC 252 on the 15, the cards for August 22 and August 29 have yet to see a main event announcement, but are confirmed as being on the schedule.
The remaining events will consist of the Contender Series, which will take place every Tuesday night (August 4, 11, 18, and 15). The series is expected to continue through September, concluding in the second week of October.
The Jiu-Jitsu Times will provide updates on the upcoming UFC cards as they become available.
