BJJ Stars is gearing up to host its first event since the COVID-19 shutdowns, and they’re coming back with a bang.
The promotion first built up the hype for the event with a match announcement between Felipe Pena and Kaynan Duarte. Now, they’ve released a number of additional matches as well.
ADCC 2019 champ Bianca Basilio will be taking on Anna Rodrigues, who won Euros earlier this year. Notably, Rodrigues’ coach, Isaque Bahiense, will also be competing at the event opposite Claudio Calasans. In another exciting match, multiple-time World and Pans champion Leandro Lo will be facing off against Lucas Barbosa, who also holds multiple world titles in his name for both gi and no-gi.
Surprisingly, Erberth Santos will also be making his return to the promotion, despite a previous announcement that he would be “banned” from future BJJ Stars events following his infamous outburst in February of 2019 during his match in the finals against Felipe Pena. Santos will be going up against Euros and Pans champion Patrick Gaudio, who last fought at SubStars earlier this year.
BJJ Stars will take place on July 25 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
