Tyson Fury has done what many thought was nearly impossible: beat Wladimir Klitschko in a boxing match. The two fought in Germany where many of the erstwhile heavyweight champ’s battles in the ring have been held. Fury grabbed the microphone and put on a show for everyone, belting out Aerosmith’s classic rock anthem “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”.
He certainly wouldn’t want to miss a thing following his win over one of the most dominant champions ever to step on the canvas. The Klitschko brothers, Wladimir and Vitali, have lorded over their division for almost a decade. This feat has catapulted the Ukrainians to stardom but it has made heavyweight boxing a bore for many since no one could come close to their skills. The brothers also refuse to fight each other so the world doesn’t know who the better fighter is.
This may no longer be important now. Tyson Fury has stepped up to do what many failed to do before him. It was a unanimous decision after 12 grueling rounds. His fight with Wladimir may not have ended in a highlight knockout but he won in convincing fashion. If Tyson Fury passionately sings Aerosmith in ring after beating Wladimir Klitschko, let him. The new champ deserves a bit of celebration.
