The Ruotolo brothers have taken the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by storm, both on the mats and in the octagon.
Namely, Kade Ruotolo recently defended his ONE Championship lightweight submission grappling world title; whereas Tye Ruotolo tapped out Marat Gafurov in orderly fashion.
And, well, Tye is certain that the belt-opportunity will come for him as well. Here’s what he said during the post-fight press conference:
Right now, my brother’s killing it with the belt in the co-main and for sure, I’d like to be there as well, but I know my opportunity is going to come sooner or later.
So as long as I keep doing my thing, keep submitting and putting on good performances… I’ll have a belt around my waist and I’ll be right there with my brother.
In the meantime, Tye will also continue putting on a show for the spectators:
My goal, every time I step on the mat, is just to give the fans something that they haven’t seen before, or something that really gravitates their interests.
[Referring to his match against Marat Gafurov] So yeah, the match definitely took a little bit longer than I thought, but yeah, it was a really good match.
And he’s a super tough individual.
