Shaving your head in support of someone battling cancer is a well-known and powerful display of solidarity. While some people can feel a bit down about parting with their hair (even for a good cause), one jiu-jitsu coach didn’t hesitate when the clippers came out.
This clip from Giulliana Fonseca Photo and Video shows the beautiful story of how McHugh BJJ coach Pete Lingesso accepted the challenge to have his hair and beard buzzed off for a good cause. And yep, it paid off — the academy managed to raise a whopping $2,000 for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which seeks to find a cure for childhood cancer.
