It’s almost a given that at some point in your jiu-jitsu career, you’ll hurt a rib (or, you know, all of your ribs). Unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot you can do to fix rib injuries aside from resting up, but there are ways to alleviate the pain that comes along with them.
In this video, the Jiu-Jitsu Therapist demonstrates an effective warm-up to reduce tightness in the muscles between your ribs. If you practice these stretches before class, you could experience reduced pain and increased flexibility while you train.
