The Kimura lock (or double wrist lock) might be the most versatile submission attack in all of grappling, as it can be attacked from nearly every position. Few submissions are possible from inferior positions – like bottom of side mount or when your opponent has your back – but the Kimura can be dangerous from many positions.
Perhaps the most famous Kimura specialist was Japan’s Kazushi Sakuraba, who famously used the Kimura to submit Gracie family members Royler and Renzo.
