14-year-old jiu-jitsu athlete Samantha Lopez is safe at home after going missing on January 4.
News of Lopez’s disappearance first broke on January 6 of this year, when Las Vegas police put out a missing juvenile alert. She is a rising star in the jiu-jitsu scene, having won Pan Kids twice, Kids Internationals, and American Nationals, among other significant accomplishments. She trains with her father and brother at Dunham BJJ, and her disappearance rocked the jiu-jitsu community, with thousands of people sharing the news to try to help locate the missing teen.
Hours ago, Lopez’s mother, DiAnna Renteria Lopez, shared the good news that her daughter had been found and was safe at home with her family.
“Samantha is home safe. We’d like to thank everyone for their prayers & support. We are eternally grateful to all who took the time to share our posts. At this time, we kindly ask for your continued prayers for Samantha & our family as we begin to heal & move forth. “
