Submission Hunter Pro (SHP) is set for its 60th event on Oct. 25, 2020, and what a coming-out party this will be. Headlining the card is an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter going up against a young, talented and rising star. UFC fighter Roxanne Modafferi will face Danielle Kelly as the main event in an all-female card stacked with some of Jiu Jitsu’s rising stars and exciting grapplers. In late breaking news, former UFC fighter Juliana Lima is replacing Jessa Khan in the co-main event. One can only surmise that it’s because the latter was just recently promoted to black belt. Also, Danielle Alvarez is replacing Erin Herle.
Lima, for her part, just won gold at the recent Pan Ams in a division two weight classes above her normal one:
Two more things that make this event special is that, one, a portion of the proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Research through The Rose Houston. It is a non-profit organization with a mission to “reduce deaths from breast cancer by providing access to screening, diagnostics and treatment services to any woman regardless of her ability to pay.” And two, the event will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
