Mixed Martial Arts fans are expressing surprise and anger over the firing of one of the UFC’s most prominent cutman, Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran. Duran was let go in response to comments he made about the recent UFC-Reebok sponsorship deal.
In an interview with MMAJunkie, Cutman ‘Stitch’ Duran explains why he spoke out against UFC-Reebok deal. Duran said he felt that someone should take a stand for the cutmen, who do not get compensated for the Reebok apparel that they wear. Duran said speaking out was what he felt was right for his fellow cutmen.
“I loved working with the UFC. I loved working with the fighters. That’s why, to me, it was a shocker,” Duran said.
