Alright, Clovis Machado, you’re not the first and certainly won’t be the last to have problems from this position. To help you out, we called on black belt Bruno Novaes, who answered our call and got to work on a solution without so much as blinking. Now all you have to do is assimilate the lesson, train a-plenty and not forget to tell us what the outcome is.
“Clovis, you have to always keep your elbows tucked in together. You must be trying to pass guard with your elbows out in front of you. So the tip is this: always keep your elbows and arms together. Never leave one of your arms out front,” Bruno taught. “Grab and hang on to an arm, get to your feet and posture up, and always keep a solid base,” he added.
