Last week, Big Guy BJJ introduced us to the Split Pass with this video. This week, they gave us a new variation to use on a more flexible opponent. You may find that when you attempt the split pass on someone with extra flexibility, they may be able to still hold onto your foot with theirs.
With the cradle version of the pass, You leave your opponent with little choice but to let your foot loose. Not only are you forcing them to do the splits, you are also crunching their body sideways while keeping your weight on their midsection. The compression begins to suffocate them until they release and allow you to pass.
