Chael Sonnen’s wild antics just keep coming. This time, the American taped another video decked out in a team Palmeiras jersey. In the video, he performs a supplex on a grappling dummy sporting a Corinthians jersey, and says the following: “On January 28: Mark Muñoz. Palmeiras, I need your support, then I’ll go to Brazil. It’ll be champion against champion. It’ll be Palmeiras versus Corinthians. It’ll be the end of Anderson Silva,” he said challengingly.
The green outfit was a present from the Palmeiras top brass, sent after the fighter issued a statement claiming he cheers for the Parque Antartica-based team—a clear jab at Corinthians, the soccer club sponsoring Anderson Silva.
The bout between Chael Sonnen and Mark Muñoz will take place January 28 in Chicago at UFC on Fox 2. The winner will be next to challenge Anderson for the middleweight title.
Check out the card, which took two hits this Monday: Eddie Wineland and Paul Sass both had to pull out due to injury. Sass will be replaced by Nick Lentz. The card is headlined by Rashad Evans and Phil Davis.
