Fighting at the 2018 Rio BJJ Pro, held last Saturday at the Tijuca Tennis Club, Rudson Mateus (CTA) put on another show of technique, which meant he got to walk away with a gold medal and some prize money.
To reach the top, Rudson advanced through his heavyweight bracket until meeting Victor Bomfim (GFTeam) in the final. After nine minutes of a tense match, Rudson played his trump card at the end: He feinted with the legs to lower Victor’s base and then made a precise jump for a flying armbar.
