In another technical lesson produced by our friends over at the Dojjo channel, Roger Gracie brings a tight counter-attack you can use to avoid being reversed by an opponent who’s rebelling against your side control. The conclusion is a choke.
Roger explains how an opponnent on the bottom can attempt to get out from under side control by coming up and getting on all fours, which later makes it possible to take down the athlete on top.
To avoid this, Roger opens his base and passes one hand under the armpit and the other behind the neck — very tight, in order to add pressure to the choke as soon as he pulls his opponent into guard.
