Roger Gracie — a detail to avoid losing the cross-choke

Roger Gracie employs his famous choke from the mount.  GRACIEMAG

The owner of many feared moves, Roger Gracie has one in particular that has become his trademark: the cross-choke.

Usually from the mount, Roger used the hell out of it to beat tough opponents and win many titles. But what is the secret to such a lethal technique?

In a lesson produced by our friends at Dojjo, Roger breaks down the whole mechanic of total pressure on the neck. He stresses the importance of the wrists, which have to be turned in order to squeeze with their harder part. Then, the turning of the wrists makes the tourniquet made with the hands asphyxiate the victim even more.
