Well, it is official. Four time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) World Champion–and a six time World Cup champion–Rodolfo Vieira has been considering transitioning to MMA for some time now. After winning his first ADCC title earlier this year during the -99kgs final, the skilled Rio de Janeiro native was offered a professional Mixed Martial Arts contract by Japan’s Real Fight Championship.
Rodolfo Vieira interview with Tatame:
“The reason why I chose ATT is because I know I will have all the support and tools I need to accomplish my goals. I’m very excited to begin this new chapter of my life. I will dedicate all my time and energy to be an MMA champion, too.”
The 26-year-old recently announced he is transitioning to the American Top Team, based out of Florida. Vieira will be joining top UFC fighters, including champion Robbie Lawler
