Rickson Gracie — as anyone who follows the jiu-jitsu media knows — was recently awarded his red belt in a surprise ceremony led by his older brother, Rorion.
After being awarded the belt, Master Rickson gave everyone a long speech about subjects such as the ranking systems and the fact that he was promoted directly to ninth-degree red belt rather than eighth degree red and white belt.
