One of the most respected masters in BJJ history, Ricardo de la Riva will be joining a select group next month.
On November 19, the creator of the de la Riva guard will be promoted coral-belt. According to the IBJJF, there are only 22 fighters of that rank in the world. The graduation will take place during a meet involving affiliate Delariva schools in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
“Getting the coral belt in Copacabana has a very special significance to me,” de la Riva said, “because it’s the place where I’ve trained, worked and lived my entire life.”
Any of you interested in attending the meet, which will also include a host of seminars, can check out delariva.com.br. Please be aware that the activities are intended for a Portuguese-speaking public.
