In a rather unsurprising development for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter, Rener Gracie will be working with Team Brian Ortega to coach the roster of bantamweight and middleweight fighters taking part in TUF 29.
Gracie shared a photo of the coaching staff for Team Ortega, which also includes Paul Herrera, Dr. Jason Park, and Tiki Ghosn.

Gracie is a longtime coach of Ortega, and in fact, the fighter received his BJJ black belt from Rener and Ryron Gracie.
The team will be going up against Team Alexander Volkanovski, which will feature ADCC silver medalist Craig Jones as an assistant coach. Volkanovski and Ortega will face off for the featherweight title at the end of the season after the previous attempt at making the fight happen fell through following Volkanovski’s COVID-19 diagnosis.
Whatever happens during this season marking the return of TUF, there’s no doubt that the fighters will be receiving some of the very best jiu-jitsu coaching possible.
