Reinier de Ridder is the reigning ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world champion. He is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, who became better known about in the BJJ community after his match against Andre Galvao.
As he’s waiting for his next assignment, “The Dutch Knight” is looking forward to watching the upcoming ONE Championship matches… Including the one for the inaugural Lightweight Submission Grappling world title, between Kade Ruotolo and Uali Kurzhev.
Reinier, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete himself, couldn’t help but be vocal about his support for Kade. He shared it in an interview for ONE Championship:
I’m going with Kade. Sambo and judo are [good], but Jiu-Jitsu is the boss. And Kade is on a different level right now.
While patiently waiting for his next challenge, de Ridder is also working on his mindset:
Two books I read have really pushed me to the next level recently.
If you want to do something extraordinary in life or if you want to get to know my mindset better, you need to read Tim Grover’s books. It has done a lot for me to read that there is more people like me and it has really made me realize it is ok to think the way I do.
