In preparation for their thirteenth event, Polaris is hosting a qualifier tournament at the Sweat Box in Bristol on March 7th – to fill the last spot for the main event. The Polaris Grand Prix Qualifier will be between 32 men of any weight (brown and black belts only) who will compete no-gi under the Polaris Grand Prix submission-only rule set. The winner gets the last spot available in the tournament and the chance to fight for £20,000 at the Polaris Grand Prix on April 4th.
Polaris’ eight-man absolute tournament will take place in the town of Newport in Wales, at the International Convention Centre. This will be the same venue that previously saw Nick Rodriguez and Ashley Williams storm to victory at Polaris 12. Newport will be the grounds for one of the sport’s biggest professional events, and will host some of the worlds best grapplers in any weight class again on April 4th, 2020.
It has been confirmed that Kaynan Duarte, Nick Rodriguez, Adam Wardzinski, Mike Perez, Patrick Gaudio, Frederic Vosgrone, and Nathan Orchard will all be fighting for the $20,000 grand prize. This fills out every spot reserved for an invitation, and the final spot will go to the winner of the Polaris Qualifier Tournament on March 7th.
