Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez were expected to face off at UFC 196 for the Heavyweight title. Unfortunately, Velasquez pulled out of the fight, citing injury as the reason. It didn’t take long for Werdum to drop out of the event, too. UFC 196 without a Heavyweight title fight seems like a bust for obvious reasons. Recently, Jon Jones took to Twitter and said that he’d fight for the title by moving up to heavyweight on short notice.
If it was for the actual title I would totally do it https://t.co/ur2Rq1ycOI

Unsurprisingly, Jones wants to fight for the real championship rather than an interim title. The UFC won’t give him the shot with less than two weeks before UFC 196, though. It’s interesting for Jones to offer himself, but even he knows it won’t happen here. Plus, everyone is more focused on Jones and his impending duel with Daniel Cormier. Jones will probably have a title around his waist soon enough either way.
What are your thoughts on Jon Jones willing to fight at UFC 196 if real heavyweight title is on the line?
