A Jiu-Jitsu black belt and officer on Brazil’s elite BOPE police squad, Paulo Thiago is confirmed to fight at UFC China this coming November 10 in Macau. The Brazilian will be taking on Dong Yung Kim, who lost to Demian Maia at the July UFC 148 event and holds 15 career wins. “I like the choice of opponent. Good fight, tough guy, tough fighter—he’s another gift from the UFC, and I can only thank them for it,” Thiago told GRACIEMAG.com.
The 31-year-old Ataíde Junior student lost his last octagon outing when he got knocked out by Siyar Bahadurzada at UFC Sweden last April. “My training has been going strong. I was already training heavy; now I just need to keep it up,” said the fighter, who is known for his masterful ground skills. “It will all depend on the game that plays out, but I feel it’s time to show my ground skills, and this will be the time,” he asserted.
