The Rio de Janeiro leg of an IBJJF tour that pays out prize money to its champions, the Rio BJJ Pro has quickly begun attracting some serious talent. Among those talented athletes is Team Lloyd Irvin’s Otávio Nalati, whose performance last weekend at Tijuca Tennis Club netted him R$ 4,000.
Nalati had Dimitrius Souza of Alliance between him and the gold, however. In the ultra-heavyweight final, Nalati used plenty of pressure from the top, efficiently restricting his opponent and shutting down Souza’s strong guard game. You can watch his technique here:
