The match between Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida and Oumar “Reug Reug” Kane just can’t seem to get to fruition. After it was originally booked for April 2021 and then fell through, the ONE Championship bout was rescheduled for this week’s Friday (April 22). However, it’s now been called off again; as Kane is injured and cannot fight.
Buchecha shared on his social media that the fight might be rescheduled yet again, this time for May 20:
Bad News! My opponent got hurt again, so my fight has been postponed and it will be rescheduled to May 20th! I am ready to go and it don’t change a thing, eyes still on the prize!
On May 20th I will be inside the ONE Championship circle against him or somebody else, but I will be there!

Almeida has had his first professional MMA match on September 2021, beating Anderson “Braddock” Silva by submission (choke from North South) under three minutes. He won his second match, back in December 2021, in the very first round yet again and via submission as well; this time with a Rear Naked Choke, against Ji Won Kang.
As his next fight is now postponed, the bantamweight bout between Chen Rui and Song Min Jong has become a part of the event’s main card.
