North Carolina’s Heaven Fitch Becomes First Girl To Win State Wrestling Championship

Uwharrie Charter High School junior Heaven Fitch has made history in North Carolina by becoming the first girl to win a North Carolina High School Athletic Association individual wrestling state championship, according to Fox8.

Fitch earned the honor last weekend by defeating Robbinsville’s Luke Wilson 11-3 to claim the title for the 106lb weight class.

Fitch has had a dominant season with a 54-4 record, wrestling in the 1A division due to the size of her school. She was voted Most Outstanding Wrestler after her performance over the weekend.
