Nate Diaz Turns Himself in to Police After Arrest Warrant Charging Him With 2nd Degree Battery

UFC fighter Nate Diaz has complied with an arrest warrant issued by the New Orleans Police Department in connection to his alleged involvement in a street brawl on Bourbon Street earlier this week.

Diaz’s representative, Zach Rosenfield, released a statement Thursday announcing that the fighter had turned himself in to the police department:

Nate voluntarily turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department this morning approximately at 7:10 am. CT. We continue to look forward to presenting all the evidence and videos that show Nate was acting in self-defense.

The arrest warrant is for suspicion of second-degree battery, which is considered a felony in Louisiana and can be punishable by up to eight years in prison “with or without hard labor” and/or up to $2,000 fine.

The incident reportedly occurred at Misfits Boxing 6, which was held in New Orleans on Friday night. Diaz was allegedly involved in two different altercations during the event; initially nearly getting into a scuffle with reality TV star Chase DeMoor before later engaging in a fight with Logan Paul lookalike Rodney Petersen, whom Diaz put into an unconscious state by choking him out.
