In the event that Miesha Tate clinches a win against Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye, in ‘UFC on FOX’, she may find herself in line for another crack at the women’s UFC bantamweight belt. In her latest outings, Tate (also known as ‘Cupcake’) has earned consecutive decision victories over Sara McMann and Liz Carmouche, in preparation for her upcoming match with Eye. In a recent interview, Tate said to “The MMA Road Show” that she was informed that she would get another title shot, if she defeats Eye.
Essentially, Tate feels that this fight is a stepping stone to a second bout with with Ronda Rousey. Nonetheless, Tate realizes that the UFC is a constantly changing environment, and title match ‘guarantees’ count for little. This is why she is clearly taking nothing for granted, because politics often stands in the way of making the fights the fans want to see.
Rousey herself has to get past Bethe Correia in her next fight. Assuming she does, another title bout with Miesha Tate could be in the cards before too long. Both women seem confident going into their upcoming matches. If each of them emerges victorious, hopefully it will set up an intriguing battle between them in the near future.
