A martial arts instructor was caught with child pornography, according to Belleville News-Democrat.
23-year-old Michael Roussel was caught with child **** after detectives started an investigation due to what the newspaper described as a “suspicious Craigslist post.”
After a pornographic image was distributed to undercover detectives, police searched Roussel’s home and found several images of child **** on multiple electronic devices of his.
Roussel’s bail has been set at $750,000 and he has been charged with one count of dissemination of child **** and seven counts of possession.
Roussel taught martial arts at S.I.M.S. Martial Arts and Fitness Academy in O’Fallon, Illinois. It is known that he taught children’s classes, but not known if any of the children at the school were victims.
S.I.M.S. is an affiliate of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu.
Roussel lists himself on his Facebook page as the Youth Program Coordinator/Instructor at S.I.M.S.
One source told the Jiu-Jitsu Times that he Roussel is a blue belt through his affiliate organization. We have not confirmed that yet, though.
