Marlon Sandro — mixed martial artist and second-degree BJJ black belt — has been booted from the world famous Nova Uniao for allegedly assaulting his fiancee, Madeira.
Nova Uniao head coach Andre Pederneiras confirmed the news to MMA Junkie.
The assault reportedly took place as Sandro and Madeira returned home from a soccer game on Thursday morning.
Based on a report from the Brazilian MMA magazine Combate:
Sandro and Madeira were returning from the game when Sandro choked out Madeira unconscious. He then proceeded to beat her with punches and kicks.
Madeira said she did not want any exposure after the incident and did not want to press charges.
However, a few of her friends posted these pictures with the hashtag “woman beater” in Portuguese.
