Last Saturday was a special one for GMA member Marcio Simas, leader of Gracie Barra Orlando, in Florida.
His BJJ blue belt Jonathan Brookins won The Ultimate Fighter 12 reality show grand finale, in Las Vegas.
Along with the prize money UFC contract, Brookins got his purple belt while still in the octagon.
Brookins, who was part of Team GSP, fought teammate Michael Johnson and came out victorious with a unanimous judges’ decision.
Simas’ Facebook page is filled with congratulations from fellows professors, students, and other fighters.
