Multiple-time IBJJF world champion Mackenzie Dern will make her professional MMA debut against fellow newcomer Kenia Rosas in a strawweight match on July 22nd at Legacy FC 58 in Lake Charles, LA.
Dern, who trains out of Gracie Humaita and The MMA Lab in the Phoenix area, first announced her decision to compete in MMA this past fall on the heels of winning the 2015 ADCC World Championship in August.
According to Tapology.com, Kenia Rosas is a 19-year old fighter from Texas with an amateur MMA record of 3-2 with 1 TKO/KO finish.
The card will also feature IBJJF and ADCC world champion and former UFC fighter Robert Drysdale (6-0, 1 NC) against Ryan Spann (9-2).
Drysdale won his UFC debut by submitting Keith Berish with a rear-naked choke in the first round in July 2014, but the win was changed to a no-contest after Drysdale tested positive for elevated testosterone levels.
An elevated testosterone test also cancelled Drysdale’s planned UFC debut against Cody Donovan at UFC 167 in November 2013.
Drysdale recently served as the MMA and grappling coach for UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk’s team on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter.
This card will air live on AXS TV.
