Born on July 11, 1988, Kron Gracie is a Jiu-Jitsu fighter of Brazilian origin. He is a member of the world renowned Gracie family; the grandson of Helio Gracie and the youngest child of Rickson Gracie. Currently, the Rizin Fighting Federation has Kron under contract. As a child, his father started training him in the art of Jiu-Jitsu. In 2008, when he was 19 years old, he was awarded a black belt.
Kron lives in Los Angeles, he is currently preparing to fight in the 145-pound division and he is 5 feet 9 inches tall. He is also known as Ice Cream Kron and he fights in the welterweight division. Kauan and Kaulin are his two older sisters. Rockson, his older brother, died in 2000 in New York City of an overdose.
Outside of competition, Kron helps with the running of his father’s association and takes on the role of teaching Jiu-Jitsu at a school he owns in Culver City, California. Before making his debut in MMA, he was featured as a playable character in the 2010 Mixed Martial Arts games. Roger Gracie was also featured.
His intention to pursue a career in MMA was made on February 24, 2014. His MMA debut took place December 23, 2014, when he faced Hyung Soo-Kim, a fellow MMA debutant. Within 65 seconds of the first round, the fight was won by Gracie via armbar submission.
His sophomore MMA appearance will be in Japan. He is a part of Rizin Fighting Federation’s New Year’s Eve card. He will be fighting Asen Yamamoto, a 19-year-old debutant whose uncle is Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, a Japanese veteran.
Asen Yamamoto has been wrestling since he was 3 years old. His family is made up of accomplished martial artists and wrestlers. They include his grandfather, Ikuei Yamamoto, who is a former Olympian. Asen won the gold medal at the FILA Cadet World Championship, in the 152-pound division. He has also declared interest in competing in Tokyo at the Summer Olympics in 2020.
Similar to a number of MMA matchups, a 10-minute opening round is scheduled for the fight. This will be followed by 2 five-minute rounds and there is provision for an overtime period of 5 minutes.
Kron Gracie is now 27 years old and as a grappler, he has enjoyed an impressive and well-decorated career. His achievements include winning a gold medal in 2013 at the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship, where he fought in the 170-pound division.
