Before the time of mixed martial arts, there was an underground competition known as the Gracie Challenge that pitted people of different combat sports styles against each other. Several decades later, the spirit of the Gracie Challenge is still available in the form of a Judo vs. Karate in competition match. The match was constructed in a similar way of the old challenge rules, which was that each man represents his style and the fight was not over until a knockout or submission. There are a plethora of different styles of martial arts out there today and while we may never know which one was truly the best when it is all said and done, but lets hope that we never stop wanting to find out.
