Jordan Jiu-Jitsu team has arrived in Lisbon for the 2010European Jiu-Jitsu Championship. After a long flight from the capital Amman, 21 mostly white and blue belt athletes showed up to compete.
“Our team is made up of members of Jordan’s army and police forces, along with athletes who train at the club,” says Zaid Mirza, a black belt and leader of Team Jordan. “We also have two really good purple belts, Zaid Abu Soud and Mohamed Bilbeisi, who come from England.”
Jordan Team promises to be the Middle Eastern team to feature the mostcompetitors, and will complete its preparations for the championship starting Thursday at some academies in Portugal.
