Professor John D. Machado — the youngest of the famous Machado brothers — is now part of an esteemed cadre of BJJ practitioners who have surpassed black belt and made it to the red-and-black coral belt.
For those who don’t know, a red-and-black coral belt is a 7th-degree black belt. It is the third highest belt one can receive, surpassed only by the red-and-white coral belt (8th degree black belt) and the red belt (9th and 10th degree black belt).
Professor John was awarded his belt by his older brother, Rigan. The eldest of the Machado brothers, Carlos, was also there to congratulate his sibling.
