Going into UFC 196, Conor McGregor was the overwhelming favorite. The odds that Nick Diaz, who was given just eleven days’ notice for the fight, would win against McGregor seemed so slim at the time that commentator Jon Anik even proposed that he would go out and get a 209 tattoo if Diaz managed to win. The numbers ‘209’ is the area code of Stockton, the hometown of the Diaz brothers.
After the Nate Diaz upset, Jon Anik agrees to get 209 tattoo. Nate Diaz even jokingly called out Anik and threatened him with a beating if he were to go back on his word.
