2023’s IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Con, affectionately referred to as “JJCon” for short, currently has a total of over 10,000 athletes — including more than 2,000 black belts — signed up to compete in the weekend’s tournaments, reportedly making it the largest event in IBJJF history. According to IBJJF social media, with its combined events, including Masters Worlds, JJCon weekend is expected to be the single largest jiu-jitsu event on the planet.
Taking place during the same weekend as IBJJF Masters Worlds, JJCon is a two-star, adult-level tournament featuring both gi and no-gi divisions. This year’s JJCon will also include a kids’ event and novices’ event. These events, along with Masters Worlds, will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada for a grappling-filled weekend from August 31 to September 2.
JJCon weekend will reportedly feature 46 mats to accommodate its whopping five-figure number of competitors. The weekend is also expected to include several free jiu-jitsu seminars.
