Jasmine Rocha tossed some provocative words at ADCC and IBJJF champion Ffion Davies in advance of their Thursday night matchup, during Wednesday’s Tezos WNO press conference.
“I don’t think she’s the Ffion she was when she got that belt, you know?” Rocha told FloGrappling reporters. She proceeded to take jabs at the reigning champion’s weight cut, recent gym change, and even new boyfriend Gabriel Sousa — speculating that Davies would lack “focus” as a result. Rocha additionally claimed that being a no-gi specialist would give her the edge over Davies, who’s won major titles in both gi and no-gi competition.
Ffion, not one to take smack talk lying down, warned Rocha not to underestimate her, and declared herself more motivated than ever to retain the belt.
“I’m honestly just really curious how she thinks she’s going to beat me,” replied Rocha, who claimed to be “unimpressed” with the ADCC champ’s “basic” knee cut passing.
To which Davies simply responded, with a smile, “I’ll beat you however you want to be beaten, b**ch.”
