Dan Reynolds, better known for singing ‘Radioactive’ as the frontman of Imagine Dragons, was recently spotted attending and partaking in a jiu-jitsu competition.
The 35-year-old singer competed in the Masters 2 tournament in the 222 & Under bracket at the Jiu-Jitsu World League Worlds 2023 event at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion.
Still a novice, Reynolds can be seen on the mats competing with his white belt tied around his waist. However, as the saying goes “It’s never too early to compete”.
Reynolds didn’t quite get the gold, but nonetheless, he made the podium earning himself a bronze medal. He lost two matches and won two matches, earning him third place. The singer was representing Renzo Gracie Los Angeles.
Celebrities practicing BJJ is something we are seeing more of, as are celebs competing, and the latest celebrity spotted on the tournament mats was the Imagine Dragons frontman.
Among Reynolds, many other celebrities have been stepping up to compete in jiu-jitsu such as Tom Hardy, who is now a purple belt, British rapper and blue belt Tinie Tempah, Five Finger Death Punch frontman Zoltan Bathory who is also a black belt and blue belt Mario Lopez; all of whom actively compete in jiu-jitsu with the general public.
Recently, billionaire and Meta social media CEO, Mark Zuckerberg was also spotted competing in the jiu-jitsu wild and won gold in his category.
